Bob Charpentier - President

Bob graduated from Providence College, Providence Rhode Island with a Bachelor`s Degree in English. His first job after college was District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America,Inc. He had assignments in Springfield,Massachusetts; Williamsport, Pennsylvania; and Wilkes Bare, Pennsylvania.

After two years, Bob decided that he needed to go back to school, so he returned to Rhode Island. While schooling part time and working part time, Bob took an airline career training course in Portland, Oregon. At the end of the four week course, the school hired him as an assistant teacher for three mounths.

Soon thereafter, Bob was hired by Braniff Airlines in Kansas City, Missouri as a Reservations Sales Agent. After the bankruptcy of braniff in 1982, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work for Republic Airlines. When the office closed in Atlanta, Bob was transferred to Livonia, Michigan. Three years later, Northwest Airlines purchased Republic. He spent 17 years in Liovnia as a Reservations Supervisor.

Northwest closed the Livonia office and Bob was transferred to the Minneapolis office in 2003. He retired in 2009, one year after Delta Airlines purchased Northwest; and moved to On Top of the world in October of 2010

 

Tony Sinopoli - Vice President

Tony and his wife Claudette became permanent Florida residents just 3 years ago. They still make trips back to NJ to visit family and friends. Our family consists of 4 children,2 boys and 2 girls plus 8 grand children.

After spending severall years in the Army he embarked on a career in the computer field in 1960.Over the next 50years Tony's love affair with computers never waned. Newer,better and faster computers were always appearing on the scene, until the advent of the moden day PC. During his career , Tony was a shift manager of the computer operation department for IT&T Data Service for 15 years.It was during this period Tony attended college nights and after 7 grueling years recived his Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After IT&T Data Services closed that particular line of business, he moved and was hired as a technical consultant for the General Electric Company for the next 10 years. After that assignment, Tony was offered a position with AT&T as a technical manager teaching new hires many different applications using PC's. He was eventually transferred to the newly formed Lucent Technologies as the manager responsible for the Corporate Security data base systems. Tony retired from Lucent in 2001.

Since retirememt Tony enjoys playing with his 8 grand children, playing golf as much as he can, and still enjoys the challenge of troubleshooting and repairing broken computers.

 

Roger Reynolds - Vice President

Roger was born in Leominster, Massachusetts but lived mostly in Brookline, New Hampshire. He graduated from High School in Milford, New Hampshire. He was too young at the time of World War ll, but served in the National Guard for 8 years.

Roger went to work as an apprentice tool and die maker and eventually moved up to become tool design engineer. He and his wife Grace have been married for 38 years; and He has a son and daughter from his first marriage; Roger also has four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

His hobbies include woodworking, plastic crafts, and computing. He started computing when his son gave him his old computer in 1995. Since then he has learned much from his attendance at the Computer Club and now helps others to enjoy this fascinating hobby.

 

 

Bob Evans - Vice President

Bob and his bride of forty years moved to OTOW in 2001 after spending forty years with McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft
in St. Louis. Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. Bob also trained personnel in Computer Aided Drawing and in
PC Applications

 

Josette Leusner - Treasurer

Josette was born in Paris, France and speaks fluent French, but she has been in the US since childhood. She worked 15yrs for Sears parts deptartment, working two computers simultaneously.

Josette and her husband who is a retired police officerMoved down in 2001 from NJ. Their two boys are also police officers. They also have 3 grandsons ages 13,12 & 9.

 

Julia Galpin Contella - Secretary

Julia was born in India and grew up in England where she became an RN. She married a South African, and lived there for 18 years, had 2 sons, and started a building contractors business, Galpin Brothers. They moved to Tampa in 1986where Julia became an American.

Julia remarried and is so happy to be living at OTOW since 2007. She loves the choices in the community, and enjoys the Chorus, Line Dancing, and of course the Computer Club. She calls this place Seniors University. Julia is very happy to still have a Real Estate Business, to be able to work and not to have to depend on listing and selling condos and houses to pay her team of four wonderful ladies. She loves the challenges as she manages 11 different communities, manages their finances, helps them stick to their budgets, and keeps their buildings in good shape. Julia love more, her hubby, 2 sons, and her three grand daughters and Sams large family.
